Come and join the fun with the return of a favorite evening adventure, the Sunset Dinner Show on board the historic Lahaina Kaanapali; Pacific Railroad. (commonly known as "the Sugar Cane Train.") This steam-driven narrow-gage railroad train is similar to the ones used to haul sugar cane in the 1800’s.
Checkin at 4:30pm for the 5:00pm departure from the Puukolii Station in Kaanapali, where you begin the evening by enjoying a sunset train ride with spectacular views of the West Maui Mountains, and the islands of Molokai and Lanai. Learn of the history of the area, and ride across the Kakakea Trestle, a 30 foot high, 415 foot long bridge.
After the ride, you'll disembark at the
Kaanapali Station where you will enjoy a delicious
all-you-can-eat local-style buffet prepared by Island Catering (see menu below).
An authentic hula show thoroughly entertains guests as they enjoy the local-style feast. Dancers of all ages from the Na Pua O Kapiolani hula studio present a variety of Hawaiian songs and hula styles.

Tips
The Sugar Cane
Train runs multiple trips daily between Kaanapali and Lahaina
on their 6 miles of track. The daytime fare is $22.50 for
adults, $15.50 for children 3-12, and children under 3 are
free. No advanced reservations are necessary for the daytime
train ride ... just show up at one of the stations and buy
your tickets.
During the
daytime the ride can be rather warm ... the exception is their
once-a-week dinner train. This
really is an enchanting event, and the late afternoon / early
evening ride makes this trip much more enjoyable and scenic as
the temperatures are much more pleasant and the mountains are
bathed in the early evening setting sun.
Unlike the day
Sugar Cane Train, the evening Sunset Dinner Train requires
advanced reservations and often fills up a week or more in
advance during busy periods. Reserve this one before you
arrive!
